Keeneland opens this Friday and the weather is supposed to be spectacular! It looks like we may actually have a taste of spring here in the Bluegrass! My morning will start bright and early by getting in line for the commemorative 2010 Maker's Mark Keeneland bottle. This year's bottle is a tribute to Coach John Calipari who successfully resurrected the UK basketball team. Maker’s Mark will donate proceeds from the sales – estimated to be about $300,000 from 24,000 bottles – to an extension program that is bringing the UK Symphony Orchestra and students from the UK School of Music into public schools and communities throughout Kentucky. I am not one of those crazy die hard UK fans, but thaKing and I already have somewhat of burgeoning Maker's Mark commemorative bottle collection going, plus it's a great cause.
That afternoon will be spent at Keeneland with thaKing and some of the fabulous Bunco babes where we will hopefully win some $$. I recently purchased the above dress to wear. I just need to find time to get my spray tan on so as not blind the horses!

Have a wonderful time in that great dress! I hope to get down there sometime before the end of the meet.
We're giving away two MM collectors bottles. You should come take the free Maker's Mark Distillery and Kentucky Cooperage (bourbon barrel-making factory) tours. MM is located just outside downtown Lebanon, Ky. and the cooperage is right on Main Street, along with The Oak Barrel restaurant - a great Bourbon Country experience! You can enter the Heart of Kentucky Bourbon & Barrels Getaway giveaway at www.VisitLebanonKy.com. The drawing is April 2. No purchase necessary. After the trip is drawn, drawings will be held for the collectors bottles.
